Miguel Arturo Layún Prado (born June 25, 1988 in Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico), nicknamed Palito de Pan (Breadstick),[2] is a Mexican footballer, who currently plays for Club América in Primera División. He holds Spanish citizenship.[1][3]

Layún made history on September 27, 2009, by being the first Mexican to play an official match on Serie A, debuting on a 1-1 draw vs Chievo in the 82nd minute.[4] He was acquired on a loan from Veracruz after a successful trial period.[1]
After only six months in Italy, He was loaned out to Mexican football Club América. He scored his first goal in a quarter-final final match of the Clausura 2010 tournament against Club Toluca, which would later finish 2-2 at the Estadio Azteca.
